Detroit Mountain Shakedown
Sunday May 21st

The Detroit Mountain trails are in great shape.  The weather forecast is showing only 1/2" of rain today and some scattered sprinkles tomorrow.

One of the expert riders that lives up there texted me and said that the trail could use some water as it was hard as a rock and even "cracked" in spots.  He thought it would be great riding on Sunday and really wanted to get the word out! Tony at DM is confident that the course will be Awesome tomorrow and the race will go on.

Hey remember if some people bail, that's a better place for you in the series :) (Stinks for me, my competition lives up there!)

See you up there at the Lodge, They have the fireplace roaring for us!

The race is on for Sunday !

The series moves on to Race #2!  What a Fantastic Woolly race this past weekend! We hope your legs are ready for some more racing. The course will be open for pre-riding any time between now and the race. Most of the intersections are being marked with arrows, course tape will be put in as we get closer to the race. Print a map from the website or use the strava map (also available on our website).  Anyone that is preregistered for the race will get free entry to the course for pre-riding.

Registration Opens at 8:00AM

Woolly Results and Survey

The St Croix Woolly was an AWESOME race.  Nearly 600 people came out and rode the trails on Sunday. This was seriously one of our largest turnouts in history!  Did you see how many 18 and under kids were there? Wow - that's so fantastic to see kids out riding and racing.

Special Thanks to Matt Fisk!  Your team of Volunteers did an incredible job.
Again the Woolly was an excellent race!

From The Woolly Trail Crew
Wow, what a weekend!  The entire Woolly Crew would like to thank each and every racer, family member, spectator, sponsor, and Mother Nature for a great event.

If you joined us this weekend we would really appreciate it if you would participate in a very brief survey.  The purposes are two fold.  One we want your honest feedback so we can make the event even better next year.  Second, we'd love to have some data to help support our belief that Bikes Mean Business to St. Croix Falls.

The survey is 8 questions, 9 if you count optionally entering your email address for a chance to win a sweet Woolly T.  It shouldn't take you more than a couple of minutes.

SURVEY HERE!!

We hope to see you back in Woolly Land soon.

MN Series Race #1

WOW Is it that time of year?  The first race of the season is approaching fast. Come out to the St Croix Woolly and enjoy some awesome single track in Western Wisconsin. This race is hands down one of the best run races in the midwest. The Woolly crew has an Army of volunteers to make sure everything runs smooth as flow trail. With many miles of trails the course is changed up each year to offer a different challenge.

When you pre-register you save some $$ and Time. So signup today for the Woolly :)

This year we have changed up the course and are skipping the Rock Gardens and putting in both Wissahickon North and South.  For a full race description head over to the website > Click Here

Pre-Riding

The course is open, weather permitting, year round to the public. Please print these maps, if you are heading up to pre-ride.  The course is marked all year, so Sport/Comp/Elite/Marathon classes will ride almost everything, except Riegel Park.  We will put up temporary signage at key intersection for all classes mid-April.

Online Registration Ends May 4th at 8:00pm.
Day of Registration Opens at 8:00am

TEXT MESSAGE RACE NOTIFICATIONS

Last season we used SMS/Text messages to communicate with racers when there were major changes or delays at our races.  For 2017 we will again use this system and you will need to sign up again for notifications.  Please follow the link below to sign up.

We will only use this system to tell you if the race has had a change in the following:

  • Cancelation - the race will NOT be held.
  • Change in Race Times - the race will move the race start times, but the race will go on that day.

For all other normal notifications you will want to check our Facebook or Twitter feed.  We also send emails with the latest news and you can signup on the home page of our web site.  If you choose to sign up for this we hope you will never get a text this year, because all of the races are going as planned.

CAMPING AND HOTELS

Please plan to make a great weekend of the race and head up Saturday...or even Friday.  Our first choice for your stay would be one of our past Race Sponsors at the Holiday Inn Express or the Dalles House Motel.  Be sure to tell them you are in town for the race!

We DO NOT have camping available at the race.  The high school will not allow it.  We have several great options within minutes of the race.

Newton's Third Law is wrong: Although it states that for each action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, there is no force equal in reaction to an attack by Gunnar Soroos. Gunnar Soroos rides for Toms Shoes Cycling Team. Gunnar Soroos is so crazy and awesome that he flips out ALL the time. I heard that Gunnar was eating at a diner. And when some dude dropped a spoon Gunnar Soroos killed the whole town. My friend Oprah Winfrey said that she saw Gunnar Soroos totally uppercut some jerkface just because they opened a window. Gunnar Soroos has two speeds. Fast, and Kill! The main export of a Gunnar Soroos attack is pain. You can control how people can interact with you and your friends.
