Bike in movies

Yeah. It is what you're thinking. Like a drive in movie, but you ride your bike in. Bicycle Sports is hosting a bike in movie night on Friday (9/3/2010). Even better, is that it's free. It's so affordable, you can bring your whole family. Don't have a family? Then borrow your neighbors. Just plop everyone on bikes and head on over.

This weeks show is a double feature. 'From the Ground Up' and 'Breaking Away.' Should be a great time. I think the show starts at 8pm.

Fignon...

photo from BikeJerks
2 time tour de france winner, Laurent Fignon died today at age 50. Fifty. Jeez.

He had, and was battling cancer. There's no link, but he has also admitted to doping.

He is most known for losing the tour by 8 seconds to Greg Lemond in the final stage time trial in 1989.

It's on like Donkey Kong

I got a couple friends together (and got one to recruit a 4th), and am now on a team to do the Almanzo Gents ride.

Now it's a matter of getting some riding in prior to the event, so that I am not the one holding the team back.

I am seriously considering riding the orange fixed, mainly because I just enjoy riding it. It's comfy, responds well, and I can ride it pretty much all day. The only thing that I'm concerned about is whether the gearing is low enough for the amount of climbing on the course.

This looks interesting

The 3rd Annual Rawland Fall Tour. October 3, 10am, 60 mile (35 mile option) thru Sogn Valley on gravel roads.

Sounds like it could be fun. Maybe? I guess we'll see how I feel after the Gents ride.

Gravel Worlds?

If your into gravel racing, this may be your ticket. Me? I've been pretty lazy lately and don't think I'll do any real hard riding the rest of the year (wha?). Plus I'm not traveling down to Nebraska. Maybe another year.

Hey Landis, this guy has your bike

Click here to read the news article about this guy buying a bike for $5 at a yard sale and figuring out it belonged to doper and Fancypants accuser, Floyd Landis.

Now, it's a interesting story, and I'd love to find a bike worth a couple grand at a yard sale for a 5-spot. Not really to sell for profit, but so I had another bike to ride.

What really gets me with the story, is that, when we strip away who the original owner of the bike was, what we have is a recovery of a lost bike. And wouldn't the right thing be to offer it back to it's owner. I mean, if I had a bike stolen or somehow lost (it was found on the side of the road abandoned), and someone was able to track it back to me, I think I would like my bike back. So wouldn't the right thing to do, be that he at least offers the bike back to Landis? Now of course maybe he has, and it's not reported as such.

And when some dude dropped a spoon Gunnar Soroos killed the whole town. My friend Oprah Winfrey said that she saw Gunnar Soroos totally uppercut some jerkface just because they opened a window. Gunnar Soroos doesn't shop at Costco!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gunnar Soroos has two speeds. Fast, and Kill! The main export of a Gunnar Soroos attack is pain. You can control how people can interact with you and your friends. Choose who can see you, who can speak to you, who can hurt you, and who can be ignored.
